Description for Die Cast Process Engineer:
The Die Cast Process Engineer will be responsible for the establishment of SOP’s for a new brass die casting process. She/he will be involved in process development, operator training, requirements testing, and coordinate with manufacturing, maintenance, and safety teams.
Responsibilities for Die Cast Process Engineer:
- Assist with setting up and helping to establish the SOP for new brass die casting process
- Help establish testing requirements for job setups / new parts
- Review all current LOTO and machine safety procedures and make updates as needed
- Enforce safety with machine operator or anyone in area
- Help establish preventative maintenance items
- Trouble shoot machine as necessary
- Provides assistance and direction to die cast team members
- Monitors daily production and carries out any troubleshooting related to the process or machine
- Push for continuous improvement of the die casting process
Requirements for Die Cast Process Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering related technical field, relevant work experience in die casting process engineer can be considered in lieu of degree
- Experienced die cast engineer with excellent problem solving skills
- Experience using / running die casting machines, brass highly preferred
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of prints / print interpretations / dimensional evaluations
- Testing requirements for die casted parts
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Desired for Die Cast Process Engineer:
- Experience with IATF 16939 quality standards
- Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma knowledge
