Description for ITProject Manager:
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning and executing network technology projects for the infrastructure teams for a global enterprise. This position will work closely with the network engineering teams along with external vendors to manage communication and ensure timely delivery of crucial global information technology infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities for IT Project Manager:
- Create Infrastructure project plans with the assistance of both co-located and remote stakeholders to track the progress of a given project
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple concurrent, high visibility IT Infrastructure projects on time, and within scope
- Facilitate all project related status meetings, documentation, and communication with IT team members, stakeholders and external vendors
- Coordinate tasks to ensure work is properly scheduled and completed within a defined timeline
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans to manage scope changes and risks
- Ensure all necessary resources are assigned and engaged
- Report on project progress, timeline, and overall health on a weekly basis
- Escalate issues to management as needed and track identified solutions to completion
- Track project financials and issue change orders as necessary
- Perform other project related duties as needed
Requirements for IT Project Manager:
- Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a project management role including significant experience in implementation of large to medium size projects
- Proven experience of successfully managing IT Infrastructure projects in mid to large organizations in a global environment
- Understanding of Infrastructure technologies including but not limited to LAN/WAN/Wireless networking, IP Telephony, server, and virtualization technologies
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, vendors, and other departments via influence
- Ability to routinely present to external customers and senior executive leadership
- Strong time management and organizational skills with close attention to detail
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with core PM tools including Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, & Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)
- Ability to work in-office at least 3 days a week
- Ability to work early morning to accommodate customers and partners for AMEA projects
Desired for IT Project Manager:
- Previous networking engineering experience
- PMP or other similar project management certification
