The Manager, Nuclear Engineering & Physics is a hands-on leader within the Isotope Engineering team who will be responsible for leading and mentoring Engineers and/or Technicians. This position will manage the development of products and processes in compliance with FDA/cGMP regulations and standards.
This position will focus on leading a team, which uses physics and nuclear based methods, to develop new and/or more efficient radioisotope production capabilities, safely. This position requires a leader who can engage directly in cross-functional problem solving, develop to standards and processes, as well as manage both an internal team and outsourced partners. This position is a liaison between Program Management and the design team to drive the design project to completion.
Develop and manage a team of Engineers and/or Engineering Technicians and perform team lead liaison duties between project management and the development teams for new product development or sustaining activities for a family of complex radioisotope processing systems.
Lead resource planning, hire, train, oversee/mentor new Engineers and/or Engineering Technicians as the team grows.
Oversee overall irradiation and physic- based concept development processes including requirements, specifications, architecture, standards, design standards, review processes, test methods, and change control.
Assist in normal operation of and oversee the development, testing, and maintenance of any accelerator (or cyclotron) based production processes and equipment. NS has Linear Accelerators.
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive experience with development of advanced technology projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of one to two years of experience leading Engineers and/or Technicians is required. Experience with project management and medical device design and development and/or FDA/cGMP compliance preferred.
