Description for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
Manufacturing Process Engineerwill be responsible for performing a variety of tasks for production floors related to the manufacture, testing, and data collection of fiber-optic transceivers and cable assemblies. This position is key in the technical analysis of product reliability, quality and performance issues in use by customers. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will also support design and documentation needed to advance the production capability and throughput of the Company’s operations department.
Responsibilities for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- Research and implementation of new manufacturing lines, processes, standard operating procedures, equipment and work instructions.
- Creates, improves, and manages build procedures and BOM requirements.
- Provides operational support for Production by sourcing, maintaining, and repairing tools, equipment, fixturing, and troubleshooting production line issues.
- Creates and manages technical work instructions and build procedures relevant to production processes.
- Creates, improves, and manages build procedures and BOM requirements.
- Uses the ERP system to generate reports and data analysis relevant to production processes and throughput.
- Provides sales support by creating and/or verifying customer-use CAD models, technical drawings, etc.
- Coordinates interdepartmental efforts and requirements (i.e., budgeting time, cost, and resources ) for new product releases or improvements.
- Trains technicians on new or updated processes
Requirements for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- At least four (4) years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Advanced data analysis skills with Microsoft Excel
- Experience creating BOM’s and technical documentation
- Proficient with CAD. SOLIDWORKS experience is a plus
- Continuous improvement experience with either Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, or Kaizen
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 practices and documentation.
- Proficient in analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills and highly detail-oriented.
- Organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in writing, verbally communicating, and presenting to various types of audiences.
- Ability to build relationships while working with diverse groups in a collaborative manner.
