Description for Project Assistant:

Under general direction, the Project Assistant performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties at the Financial Center.  The Financial Center aims to improve the financial equity of our residents by providing high-quality, one-on-one financial education and counseling to low- and moderate-income residents. The Project Assistant oversees the creation and implementation of professional development opportunities and special events, assists the Center Manager in the strategic planning and daily operations of the Financial Center.


Responsibilities for Project Assistant:

  • Supports the design and delivery of programs for Financial Center operations team members and identifies externally suitable programs as needed.
  • Plays an integral role in planning, administration, and logistics of program events and services.  May facilitate in-person and virtual services, pilot programs, and other programs as needed.
  • Collaborate and partner with community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to consolidate resources and enhance Financial Center program outcomes.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategy and evaluation methods to assess assigned program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create &/or maintain complex spreadsheets &/or databases &/or reports, queries, charts, etc. based on supervisor's information objectives. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements for Project Assistant:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in organizational development, training and development, education, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Experience building learning programs and knowledge of adult learning principles. 
  • Knowledge of and experience managing training and meeting logistics and tracking of metrics to be leveraged for reporting and continuous improvement purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Communicates effectively one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts; writes precise, well-organized emails, letters and proposals while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while being detail oriented and using sound independent judgment to accomplish tasks.
  • Excellent relationship building skills - confidently forms personal perspectives on an engagement, collaborating with the team as thought partners to shape, iterate, and articulate the project challenge. 
  • Goal and result driven - always open to new ideas with a constant desire to learn more.
  • Requires ability to lift and carry 20 lbs
