Description for Project Assistant:

Under general direction of the Director of Innovation and Strategy, the Project Assistant assists in developing and implementing the vision, goals and objectives of the Child Savings Account (CSA) program and leads the program’s outreach and engagement efforts. The Project Assistant will work with community partners to encourage enrollment among families who have to opt-in to the program, attend community events to promote the program, and coordinate with partners to offer financial capability services to participating families.

Responsibilities for Project Assistant:

  • Supports the design and delivery of program vision and goals for CSA including planning, administration, and logistics of program events and services.  
  • Cultivates and maintains partnerships with city and county government agencies, nonprofit organizations, stakeholders and community leaders. 
  • Oversees participant outreach and engagement efforts and facilitates in-person or virtual sessions.
  • Co-develops marketing strategy and evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Creates and maintains complex spreadsheets, databases, reports, queries, charts, etc. based on Director and program objectives. 
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

 

Requirements for Project Assistant:

  • Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of college.
  • Requires a minimum 3 years’ experience in program management, community engagement, education, family or social services or related.  
  • Experience using social media tools preferred. 
  • Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred.  
  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and familiarity with web-based applications.
  • Requires the ability to build rapport and develop trusting relationships with families and community stakeholders.
  • Requires the ability to create and foster a non-judgmental, compassionate, and culturally sensitive approach to working with families and community stakeholders.
  • Requires the ability to conceptualize and articulate program outcomes.
  • Requires the ability to engage in reflective learning practices and to utilize constructive feedback in order to inform work with families.
  • Requires the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
