Description for Project Manager: 

The Project Manager’s role is to oversee, coordinate, and be the customer-facing representative managing military and defense-related manufacturing projects.   You will be one of 3 PM’s and report to the President of the co.


Responsibilities for Project Manager:

  1. The position may require up to 25% travel (national)
  2. Accountability for developing, planning, and overseeing programs and projects to ensure successful completion (scope, schedule, budget) 
  3. Assist Sales Team developing and determining the project’s scope and objectives as needed
  4. Expected to help plan and coordinate project resources, review budgets, monitor progress, and keep key stakeholders (internal team, customer, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.) informed 
    1. Develop and maintain standard reporting procedures
    2. Study proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents
    3. Support Sales team in development of proposals and estimates
  5. Position is responsible to collaborate with production (Engineering, Supply Chain, and Engineering) team to coordinate the manufacture of projects 
    1. These orders may be complex, unique, and/or of high importance
  6. Responsible for all aspects of external contracting/construction work
    1. Estimating budgets and costs 
    2. Developing schedules with input from all parties 
    3. Identifying subcontractors and subcontract management aligned with SOW
    4. Ensure all 3rd party work is completed with highest quality possible.
    5. Familiarity with any permits and or licenses needed from subcontractors.
    6. Collaborating with customers, engineers, and subcontractors
    7. Analyze any and all risks associated with project, build, or possible delays
    8. Reporting progress and coordinating with customer
  7. Responsible for management and coordination of 3rd party contractors on site 

Requirements for Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred)
  • 2+ years relevant project management and/or engineering experience required.
  • Specialized manufacturing project management and construction management preferred 
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Ability to effectively manage time addressing multiple project needs
  • Proven leadership skills, team work, customer service, and creativity
  • Results driven
  • Strong technical competence
  • Critical thinking, problem solving/analysis, and decision making 
  • PMP certification a plus 

NOTE: Working Conditions

  1. Working indoors and outdoors
  2. Exposure to heat and cold
  3. Excessive noise possible
  4. May work around heavy equipment
  5. PPE may be required such as steel toed boots, hi-vis and hard hat
