Description for Project Manager:
The Project Manager’s role is to oversee, coordinate, and be the customer-facing representative managing military and defense-related manufacturing projects. You will be one of 3 PM’s and report to the President of the co.
Responsibilities for Project Manager:
- The position may require up to 25% travel (national)
- Accountability for developing, planning, and overseeing programs and projects to ensure successful completion (scope, schedule, budget)
- Assist Sales Team developing and determining the project’s scope and objectives as needed
- Expected to help plan and coordinate project resources, review budgets, monitor progress, and keep key stakeholders (internal team, customer, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.) informed
- Develop and maintain standard reporting procedures
- Study proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents
- Support Sales team in development of proposals and estimates
- Position is responsible to collaborate with production (Engineering, Supply Chain, and Engineering) team to coordinate the manufacture of projects
- These orders may be complex, unique, and/or of high importance
- Responsible for all aspects of external contracting/construction work
- Estimating budgets and costs
- Developing schedules with input from all parties
- Identifying subcontractors and subcontract management aligned with SOW
- Ensure all 3rd party work is completed with highest quality possible.
- Familiarity with any permits and or licenses needed from subcontractors.
- Collaborating with customers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Analyze any and all risks associated with project, build, or possible delays
- Reporting progress and coordinating with customer
- Responsible for management and coordination of 3rd party contractors on site
Requirements for Project Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred)
- 2+ years relevant project management and/or engineering experience required.
- Specialized manufacturing project management and construction management preferred
- Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Ability to effectively manage time addressing multiple project needs
- Proven leadership skills, team work, customer service, and creativity
- Results driven
- Strong technical competence
- Critical thinking, problem solving/analysis, and decision making
- PMP certification a plus
