Overview of Quality Process Manager

This newly created role reporting to the COO is for an experienced corporate quality manager with a background in a manufacturing environment. You will lead the initiative to have a more formal QMS for quality, engineering, and manufacturing groups. Formal training in engineering, mathematics or project management is required to be successful, as is a Black Belt.

This role will be the most Senior Quality Professional at the co. and will communicate with the UK-based parent for quality reporting, goals and initiatives. Expectations for this role:

  • Develop a separate quality organization, which will:
    • Take metrics of production and prepare reports showing trends
    • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing date
    • Update our quality control plan
    • Review red tag system of identifying and isolating faulty products
    • Start a 6-sigma quality system 
    • Custodian for the following Documents: Co Quality Manual, Global Procedures (ATEX & IECEx), ISO Standard, External Origin standards, IEC 80079-34
  • Serve as the Management representative for our compliance activities (ISO 9001, ATEX, IECEx, UL, CSA, other customer specific as needed). As part of this function candidate will:
    • Communicate with Notified Bodies (compliance agencies) relating to audit requirements, reports, compliance status and product updates
    • Develop and assist in the development and update of new and existing process documents
    • Responsible for our Quality System document (updates & changes)
    • Document control and record keeping
      • For documents candidate is identified as custodian
      • Support custodians of other documents
  • Ensure ROHS and WEEE requirements are followed
    • Enhance ROHS compliant material tracking system
  • Manage product labeling requirements as they relate to compliance need (e.g., CE {including our Declaration of Conformity documents}, UKCA, ATEX, UL, etc.)
  • Manage new facility compliance submittals as they occur (e.g., Italy and India)
  • Coordinate and lead Annual Management Review
  • Maintain Quarterly KPI reports

Requirements for Quality Process Manager

  • Experience working with quality systems, with highly regulated products (i.e. medical, safety, aerospace, automotive)
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Controls/ SPC
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt (to lead Six Sigma initiatives)
  • Organized and process minded 
  • Strong background in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Will be required to communicate with all levels of our organization (high level management, engineering staff, suppliers, factory staff, front office staff) as well as outside auditors and compliance agencies and suppliers.
  • Work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Confidence to communicate with internal & external work partners 
  • Able to become familiar with areas of technology outside of formal education.
  • Can escalate issues and/or roadblocks to supervision
  • Four-year BS technical /STEM


  • Familiar with products that include embedded micro controllers
  • Experience building a team of staff
  • PMP

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to very low levels of combustible gases in controlled amounts. Additionally, they will be exposed to the manufacturing environment consistent with mass production of circuit boards and manual assembly of mechanical components and housing.


Minimal travel is expected for this position (Italy, India once a year)
