Description for Quotation Engineer:
As a Quote/Estimating Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the pre-production process by analyzing project specifications, developing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with our engineering and production teams. Your expertise will ensure that our bids are competitive while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
This is a family-owned medical device & aerospace manufacturer with clients like SpaceX (aerospace) Zimmer and Stryker (medical implants).
Responsibilities for Quotation Engineer:
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for machining projects.
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to create comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements and feasibility.
- Prepare detailed proposals and presentations for clients, highlighting key value propositions. Monitor and update pricing databases to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and lead times.
Requirements for Quotation Engineer:
- 5 years’ preferred experience as process, product, manufacturing, or quoting engineer
- 3 years’ preferred experience, dealing with products produced via CNC machining. If you don’t have CNC exp., willingness to learn
- 3 years’ experience using CAD software.
- Strong skills with metrology devices such as mics, calipers, indicators, vision systems, etc.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints (including GD&T features such as true position and profile of a surface) per customer specs
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
