Description for Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Catheters:
As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering group, you will provide expertise and drive results in the engineering, design, development, and implementation of new life-saving products. The ideal candidate will be able to strongly step into the role as a leader in electro-mechanical manufacturing, bringing with them confidence in quality management systems. This individual will be collaborating cross-functionally with Production, R&D, Quality, and other groups.
Responsibilities for Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Catheters: 
  • Pioneer new manufacturing processes for brand new product lines
  • Grow an exciting team that is responsible for Penumbra's latest technology
  • Mentor and develop cross-functional team members with the mentality that their success is your success
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot problems to assess root causes and implement creative solutions
  • Own the vendor management process and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Manage the development, implementation and creative uses of processes and equipment for manufacturing of products to achieve cost effectiveness and product quality
  • Being a manufacturing engineering liaison within a global workforce
  • With a high level of customer service, provide engineering support to operations and own the process of line expansion
  • Work with product development teams to ensure the manufacturability of designs
  • Create and modify product design specifications
Requirements for Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Catheters:
  • BS degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Medical device industry experience is required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred
  • At least 5-8 years of engineering experience in a medical device manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with international suppliers is preferred
  • A passion for tackling and solving technical problems
  • The ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, compelling manner, both orally and in writing
Desired for Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Catheters:
  • knowledge of FDA regulations, lean manufacturing, and/or materials and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, MDSAP quality standards.
