Description for Sr. Program Manager:

This PM must have Program Management experience and understand Program Management Processes.   Preferred to have strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing shops.

This PM will be developing a detailed project schedule including kickoff and closeout meetings, project status review meetings, deliverables, and project closeout.  They will work with the project team to identify possible scope growth & additional sales opportunities. They will also detail project budget including manpower allocation and expenses.  Additionally, they will communicate with upper management of project status, concerns, issues, or needs.

This PM will also keep customers informed on project and budget status via clear and consistent communication.

Responsibilities for Sr. Program Manager: 

  • Work with sales and management staff to understand project deliverables, timing, and required resources.
  • Develop a detailed project budget including manpower allocation and expenses.
  • Develop a detailed project schedule including kickoff and closeout meetings, project status review meetings, deliverables, and project closeout.
  • Maintain budget and schedule (project plan) on a weekly basis.
  • Manage project scope and deliverables execution.
  • Communicate with upper management of project status, concerns, issues, or needs.
  • Keep customer informed on project and budget status via clear and consistent communication.
  • Direct project team as needed to ensure their thorough understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain scope change log and communicate impact to customer on a timely basis.
  • Maintain and update as needed the Lessons Learned for each project.
  • Work with project team to identify possible scope growth & additional sales opportunities.

Requirements for Sr. Program Manager:

  • BA in Engineering (preferred).
  • 5-10 years program management experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Automotive plant experience in a union setting desired.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing (Body Shop, Paint Shop and General Assembly) preferred.
  • Ability to attend and chair meetings on their own.
  • Must be able to work on a cross-functional team and on your own.
