Description for Manufacturing Engineer:The Manufacturing Engineer will lead R&D projects, ensure product certification, and drive process/continuous improvements projects. Responsibilities include floor presence for process understanding, effective team communication, data analysis, waste reduction, managing bill of materials changes, and trial assistance.
Responsibilities for Manufacturing Engineer:
- Lead research and development projects to pioneer new systems development.
- Lead certification initiatives for products, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Spend time on the production floor to understand all aspects of the process(es).
- Communicate effectively with team members, including management and operators.
- Collect, record, analyze, and present data using Excel.
- Utilize data analysis techniques to investigate issues and implement corrective actions for sustained improvement.
- Monitor and suggest improvements for waste reduction and increased operational efficiency.
- Review, approve and manage implementation of bill of materials changes.
- Assist in trial preparation and production.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Manufacturing Engineer:
- BS in Engineering
- At least four (4) years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Advanced data analysis skills with Microsoft Excel
- Experience creating BOM’s and technical documentation
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Continuous improvement experience with either Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, or Kaizen
- Proficient in analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills and highly detail-oriented.
- Organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in writing, verbally communicating, and presenting to various types of audiences.
- Ability to build relationships while working with diverse groups in a collaborative manner
