The Challenge

A global leader in heavy industry technology was seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who would be responsible for the technical leadership, planning, development, and hands-on implementation of Lean manufacturing, supply chain concepts and processes at the client’s manufacturing facilities domestically and internationally. To increase the difficulty, this role would start in a rural location and would require heavy travel.

The Solution

180 Engineering held a detailed intake meeting with senior leadership, including the COO, in order to capture the most essential skills such as continuous improvement expertise with Lean Six Sigma, experience working in metal fabrication manufacturing environment, and change management. Our recruitment team then went off to work searching our talent network, connecting with passive candidates, and following up on referrals until we felt we had the right batch of candidates who possessed the skills needed and excited at the prospect of traveling to be a change agent at different manufacturing sites.

The Outcome

I had a wonderful experience working with 180 Engineering, specifically with Dana Straple. The position was a government job in the IT dept. Dana reached out to me to with the job description and mentioned that my experience would be a good fit. She got me an interview with the hiring managers and the decision makers. Each step of the way, she was in constant communication as to what was going on and what the decision makers were thinking. Due to the nature of some/most or at least this specific government position, the hiring process took about 6-8weeks. During that waiting time, Dana was in constant communication with me and ensured that I was going to get hired for the position but the approval process had several steps. Once I received the official offer, she walked me through that process and was still in constant communication even after the HR process, which was also a pleasant experience.I would recommend 180 Engineering since my experience with Dana was a positive one!
