Description for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer with expertise in injection molding and tooling to join our team. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, optimizing processes, and supporting the manufacturing of our client’s products. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
Responsibilities for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- Develop and select process technologies for the manufacturing of our client’s products.
- Lead and manage CAPEX equipment purchase projects.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production and quality issues.
- Conduct process capability studies and implement process controls.
- Perform formal root cause analyses and corrective actions on process, quality, safety, and environmental issues.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot equipment.
- Drive process optimization and manage related projects.
- Participate in risk management activities related to the manufacturing of the devices.
- Contribute to product development by supporting process development and documentation activities.
- Develop project justifications and conduct capacity analysis.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to meet business objectives.
Requirements for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in injection molding and tooling in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with project management, including CAPEX projects.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and non-engineering departments.
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to develop efficient manufacturing practices.
- Hands-on ability to train and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with operators and maintenance teams.
- Demonstrated data-driven problem-solving ability; understanding of DOE, SPC, and industrial statistics is a plus.
