Description for Network Engineer:
180 Engineering is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, security, and infrastructure design, with preference given to those experienced in Ubiquiti networking equipment.
Responsibilities for Network Engineer:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
- Implement and optimize VPNs, VLANs, and network security protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Provide expert guidance on network scalability and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support network expansion initiatives.
- Provide a 24-hour turnaround response to any inquiry.
- Be available for meetings during the day.
Requirements for Network Engineer:
- Experience in network administration with expertise in routing, switching, and wireless networking.
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti devices preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in VPN setup, VLAN configurations, and network security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: fiber to the home (OLT experience)
This is a remote contract position with flexible hours, approximately 30 hours per month.
