Annual Salary Range: $75 – 90K + annual commissions. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

Description for Sales Engineer:

The Inside Technical salesperson will be assigned a role focused on custom modular and transportable facilities for various applications including Sensitive Compartment Information Facilities (SCIF). The Inside Technical salesperson will provide a consultative approach to customer requirements with regards to industry regulation for physical security, ICD 705, manufacturing capabilities, concerns in logistics, and other technical disciplines. The salesperson will be based out of our manufacturing facility in Bardstown, KY. The position will interact with Department of Defense (DoD), as well as national and international accounts. Limited travel (5-10%) is required for trade shows and customer site visits. This position reports to the Technical Sales Manager.

Responsibilities forSales Engineer:

  • Respond to incoming leads by qualifying the requirements of the customer, recommend the appropriate product, and provide technical information and quotes 
  • Generate price quotes and written proposals to customers
  • Generate leads independently through market research, calls, networking, LinkedIn and other means 
  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers to solve their requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams to develop solutions to customer requirements. Assist with developing technical details between the customer.
  • Consult as subject matter expert for the customer. Develop and demonstrate a keen knowledge of product capabilities, industry regulations, logistics, and contracting processes/procedures
  • Occasional travel may be required to secure opportunities
  • Support and coordinate with our Outside Sales/Business Development team
  • Track and manage all active leads in the ERP or CRM system. Perform follow ups as required
  • Provide input to the development of literature, presentations, and other marketing related deliverables as required
  • Attend industry trade shows as required
  • Facilitate customer site visits and meetings as required

Requirements forSales Engineer:

  • 1-3 years sales or customer service experience in DoD related work
  • Basic knowledge of engineering disciplines (electrical, structural, mechanical) 
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Articulate complex customer requirements between engineering and the customer
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory policy/documents 
  • Project management 
  • Manage multiple complex sales opportunities and projects at the same time
  • Driven to excel in sales to meet or exceed company quotas
  • Manage inside sales leads and be able to identify new sales opportunities
  • Exceptional lead tracking and follow up skills
  • Develop strong product knowledge
  • Client relations / customer service experience  
  • Estimating / pricing 
  • Proficiency with various computer systems, including Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Word, and ERP/CRM products  
  • Experience with DoD preferred
  • Familiarity with ICD 705 preferred
