Description for Process Engineer:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining and establishing manufacturing processes in coordination with operations, product engineering, quality, maintenance, etc. This position entails supporting AC motor iron build, stator/armature winding, and final test for these sub-assemblies.
Responsibilities for Process Engineer:
- Creation, revision, and application of manufacturing process engineering documentation.
- Investigation and implementation of process improvement opportunities.
- Problem solving and variation reduction activities for process control and improvement.
- Investigation and resolve of in-process quality issues identified during the manufacturing/assembly process.
- Supports and compiles data for monthly metrics and reports updates of assigned projects.
- Serves as a support trainer for manufacturing/production personnel.
- Develop systemic solutions for manufacturing errors
- Perform measurement systems analysis, assess process capability, development of control plans, FMEA and process yield implementation
Requirements for Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience (High school diploma or GED required)
- 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- 2 + years in electric motor manufacturing
- Experience in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
- General machine tool experience
- Knowledge of process improvement and establishment in a manufacturing role
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to work closely with and assist salaried and hourly personnel as well as outside contractors and must maintain a good working relationship with all.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- The ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Creative problem-solving and independent decision making.
- Self-starter, innovative, and team oriented.
- Professional communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft
- Initiative and creativity; must be able to produce high quality work on tight schedules and be willing to work odd hours when necessary.
