Description for IT Program Manager:
The Global IT Infrastructure Program Manager manages the IT Infrastructure scope of a complex suite of projects and is responsible for the delivery of initiatives across the IT infrastructure operations groups. This role will work closely with cross-technology and cross-functional partners to deliver value to the customer, meeting the scope, budget and timeline of the effort. This Program Delivery will require strong communication skills to coordinate onsite and remote work with teams across our regions. Focus is required on delivering the design, procurement, deployment, and lifecycle of IT infrastructure platforms and equipment, from inception to completion. Manage budget and funding channels. Professionalism and cooperation when working with customers, team members and management is essential
Responsibilities for IT Program Manager:
- Develop and manage IT- Infrastructure deliveries from beginning to end, including project scope, timeline, hardware procurement, resource allocation, and project execution coordinating remote work closely with Technical and Functional teams.
- Provide program management and direction to ensure the project team has a clear understanding of timelines, risks, escalation path and roles/responsibilities they will undertake within the infrastructure team.
- Own updates and knowledge documentation regarding hardware and equipment standards to ensure appropriate hardware standards are met and the correct equipment procured.
- Serve as a liaison between Network Engineers, Cybersecurity Engineers, DBAs, System Administrators, Development teams and Customers.
- Identify and manage Visual Management KPIs in accordance with company Lean principles and guidelines to lead Infrastructure management boards.
- Provide monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality and ensure proper follow-up.
- Facilitate formal turn-over with IT production teams and monitor deliverables until agreed upon launch/deliverable milestone is achieved.
- Update or develop documentation on processes that are critical to successfully implementing the deliverables
- Identify opportunities to streamline deployments, share best practices with peers and leaders, and implement continuous improvement / Lean actions on a regular basis.
Requirements for IT Program Manager:
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in a project management role, with a strong track record of successfully delivering medium to large-scale information technology projects on time, within budget, and aligned with defined scope, while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and project goals are met.
- Proven experience of successfully managing IT Infrastructure projects in mid to large organizations in a global environment
- Understanding of Infrastructure technologies including but not limited to business applications, database, networking, and cybersecurity
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, vendors, and other departments via influence
- Ability to routinely present to external customers and senior executive leadership
- Strong time management and organizational skills with close attention to detail
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work in-office Monday-Friday
Desired for IT Program Manager:
- PMP certification or other accredited project management certification is preferred, demonstrating formal training and commitment to industry-standard project management practices.
- Previous experience leading Solaris to Linux migration projects is highly desired, including planning, execution, troubleshooting compatibility issues, and ensuring minimal downtime during the transition.
