Description for Sr. Electrical Design Engineer:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical design of low-voltage power distribution equipment, developing complex electrical systems and control schemes while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards. They will own electrical design projects from concept through release, establish and maintain design standards and best practices, and review and approve technical documentation. The role involves close collaboration with customers and internal teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and product reliability.
Responsibilities for Sr. Electrical Design Engineer:
- Lead electrical design projects for low-voltage power distribution equipment from concept through release.
- Develop electrical systems, control schemes, and ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and other relevant standards.
- Establish, maintain, and improve electrical design standards and best practices.
- Review and approve electrical designs, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure practical and manufacturable solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in electrical design processes and practices.
Requirements for Sr. Electrical Design Engineer:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical design for power distribution equipment
- Strong knowledge of NEC, UL, and NEMA standards
- Experience with power system analysis software
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
- Strong project management skills
- Experience collaborating with customers and internal cross-functional teams
