Description for Sr. Electrical Engineer:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design of electrical control systems for low- and medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient operation of products and processes. They will oversee electrical design projects from concept through implementation, establish and maintain engineering standards, and review technical documentation. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, supporting continuous improvement, providing technical troubleshooting, mentoring engineering teams, and contributing to new product development initiatives. The position also includes occasional on-site customer and supplier support.
Responsibilities for Sr. Electrical Engineer:
- Lead and oversee the electrical design of control systems for LV and MV switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards.
- Review and interpret customer specifications, sales agreements, and provide technical direction to other engineers and designers.
- Design using AutoCAD Electrical, establish and implement engineering standards, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Evaluate and select electrical/electronic components for control systems, ensuring compliance with codes and customer specifications.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for customers and field service personnel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing, design, and quality issues.
- Mentor engineering teams, provide training, and develop technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Support new product development initiatives by staying current on industry technologies and trends.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Provide occasional on-site commercial and technical support (up to 10% travel).
Requirements for Sr. Electrical Engineer:
- 7+ years of experience leading and designing electrical control systems for LV and MV switchgear assemblies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
- Ability to design, review, and lead electrical designs for multi-phase and DC switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards
- Experience coordinating projects, schedules, and budgets for electrical design work
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to provide technical support and mentorship to engineering teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electrical test equipment related to LV/MV products
