Description for Senior Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations:
Seeking a Senior Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations to join a Global Information Technology leadership team. This role is responsible for managing a highly skilled team of IT professionals, along with project leadership, planning, finance, strategy development, and business operations within Microsoft Cloud Operations.
This leader will drive both strategic and operational initiatives globally, developing short- and long-term objectives, while building a scalable enterprise ecosystem supporting both on-premise and cloud operations in a 24x7 environment. The role also includes leadership in team development, succession planning, and organizational growth to support business objectives.
This position is onsite in Mentor, Ohio, with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities for Senior Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations:
- Direct a global team of IT managers and technical experts in Microsoft-based Cloud Operations
- Manage individuals in both direct and indirect matrix-based organizations globally
- Manage large, enterprise-wide Information and Operations technology projects including milestones, deliverables, budgets, and timelines
- Collaborate with IT senior managers to develop global cloud strategy, policies, procedures, and SLAs, ensuring adherence
- Oversee capital budgets of $2–5M and operating budgets of $7–10M+
- Maintain LEAN IT initiatives to improve team efficiency
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure IT strategy aligns with overall business objectives
- Research, evaluate, and recommend cloud technologies aligned with business and IT strategy
- Drive growth and development of the global IT team supporting Microsoft Cloud Operations
- Manage training plans and development programs to enhance team capabilities
- Oversee vendor relationships and licensing management
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including oversight of departmental budgets up to $20M annually
- Lead strategic and operational initiatives across global Microsoft administration teams
- Ensure development and execution of both short- and long-term operational plans
- Provide leadership for career development, succession planning, and talent growth within the team
- Ensure successful execution of projects on time and within budget
- Collaborate with cross-functional business units to understand IT impact across multiple disciplines
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements for Senior Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 15 years managing a technical IT team responsible for Microsoft infrastructure and operations
- 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in IT technologies including Microsoft Cloud, servers, operating systems, storage networks, and virtualization
- Experience managing large, complex global projects
- Microsoft operational experience in Azure or AWS
- Proven experience managing budgets in excess of $5M
- Experience leading, mentoring, and growing IT teams
