Pay Range: $110,000 - $135,000 plus bonus and equity. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom electrical control panels and switchboards serving mission-critical industries including data centers and healthcare facilities.

This position will play a key role in electrical system design, documentation development, standards creation, and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate will bring strong EPLAN expertise, deep knowledge of UL 508A requirements, and experience designing electrical systems within a panel shop, switchgear, or system integration environment.

This is an onsite position located in Covington, GA.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, terminal plans, bills of material, and related documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel
  • Develop custom electrical designs for UL 508A control panels and UL 891 switchboards
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable UL requirements, including SCCR calculations, conductor sizing, labeling, wiring methods, and clearance requirements
  • Develop and maintain EPLAN libraries, templates, macros, and design standards
  • Support design-for-manufacturability initiatives and automated panel fabrication processes
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and leadership teams to improve efficiency and product quality
  • Generate clear technical documentation, procedures, and engineering records
  • Assist in establishing engineering standards and scalable processes within a growing manufacturing operation
  • Support troubleshooting, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of electrical design experience within control panel manufacturing, switchgear, power distribution, or system integration environments
  • Expert-level proficiency with EPLAN Electric P8
  • Strong knowledge of UL 508A standards and electrical design principles
  • Experience creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization
