Description for Business Systems Analyst:
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) oversees the company’s WMS, ERP, and OMS systems, including managing and resolving EDI-related issues. In this role, the BSA coordinates and drives the resolution of system break/fix incidents, maintains project and enhancement tracking, gathers detailed business requirements from internal stakeholders, and ensures that all systems are aligned with overall business objectives.
Responsibilities for Business Systems Analyst:
- Train and support internal staff and end-users on system features and workflows.
- Serve as the main point of contact for issues related to ERP, WMS, OMS, PIM, and EDI.
- Manage, prioritize, and resolve system incidents, enhancements, and upgrades in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
- Create and maintain documentation, including project trackers, functional requirements, process maps, and training guides.
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to gather and document project requirements and identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for IT teams or vendors.
- Conduct system testing and validation, and guide end-users through UAT.
- Monitor system performance proactively and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to plan and implement system upgrades and new initiatives.
- Provide support during business hours and as needed after hours, serving as the primary contact for urgent issues.
Requirements for Business Systems Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
- Experience supporting ERP and WMS systems (ERP and/or AS preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Experience managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Familiarity with integration tools/middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica).
- Understanding of EDI processes, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Project management skillset.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with on-premises (Veeam) and cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
- Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, or similar tools.
- ERP/WMS systems management certifications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
