Description for Continuous Improvement Engineer:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will support CI projects to improve implementation or new programs and existing production to create high quality of service and products for customers. The CI Engineer will evaluate and eliminate the variation in processes and systems interactions, and to represent operations for the business.

Responsibilities forContinuous Improvement Engineer:

  • Evaluate process variation found in current operation
  • Create/Maintain continuous improvement processes, tools, and systems used by MGS operation and teams.
  • Know and understand the guiding principles of DMAIC and PDCA and its application in daily functions.
  • Identify areas of waste, duplication, and frequent errors.
  • Develop and support plans to implement changes, including identifying resources and leading project teams.
  • Monitor process improvement results and provide appropriate feedback on system and tool implementation.
  • Make continuous improvements and adjustments to maintain efficient operation of MGS teams and projects.
  • Any other duties as assigned. 

Requirements for Continuous Improvement Engineer:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and technical experience involved in supporting continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, project management and communication skills are needed to be successful in this role.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
  • Basic Knowledge of FDA and ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is preferred.
  • Team building, decision making, and people management skills are preferred.
  • Plastic injection molding environment experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience/understanding of management principles (budgeting/expense management, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred.
  • Expertise within the plastics industry in terms of standards, processes, procedures, and equipment is preferred.
