Hourly Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
Description for Continuous Improvement Engineer:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer (Logistics) will be responsible for reviewing production orders to ensure shipments and storage in our facility
Responsibilities for Continuous Improvement Engineer:
- Ensure the daily shipment target assigned to the plant is met and lead the continuous improvement process to improve on-time shipments.
- Meet with Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Purchasing department managers to coordinate shipping activities.
- Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure delivery times and locations are coordinated.
- Promote teamwork by improving performance and developing optimal work schedules/workflow, providing guidance and coaching to employees.
- Ensure the effective allocation/utilization of resources, maintaining compliance with established policies, processes, and procedures, while recommending improvements.
- Monitor overall department performance by collecting and reporting accurate inventory data, negative inventory balances, labor effectiveness, correct identification of bin locations, cleanliness, etc.
- Manage the inventory improvement process. Review reports and actively work in the warehouse to understand errors, identify their root causes, resolve discrepancies, and suggest and implement corrective measures.
- Manage the performance of periodic cycle counts of inventories, including the annual physical inventory, reporting actual vs. theoretical inventory balances, investigating root causes, and implementing systematic solutions.
- Compile and distribute shipping reports detailing order status, distribution plans, and service/shipping cost aspects.
- Ensure that finished goods inventory is processed accurately and timely and stored in designated locations.
- Organize the necessary shipping documentation and contact customs officials to process shipment releases.
- Arrange storage facilities when necessary.
- Review production orders to estimate maximum delivery periods and issue work assignments.
- Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and recommending preventative measures/actions in response to incidents and by maintaining diligent housekeeping standards and complying with all OSHA and DOT requirements.
Requirements for Continuous Improvement Engineer:
- Bachelors in Engineering.
- Mastery of Spanish is essential.
- Knowledge, experience and interest in Logistics and Warehousing.
- Basic knowledge of SAP is valued.
- Personality: Candidates should be organized, methodical in their work, capable of learning quickly and adapting easily to change. They must be able to maintain a high level of dedication to difficult work challenges. Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to interact and communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, and the ability to work under pressure.
