Description for Control Systems Engineer:
We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of advanced control systems and electrification technologies for our client’s equipment components. This role focuses on implementing electric drive systems, high-voltage power conversion, and intelligent control strategies for high-performance, ruggedized applications.
Responsibilities for Control Systems Engineer:
- Responsible for all electronic and electrical aspects of new product development through production support.
- Design and develop real-time embedded control systems for traction drives, thermal management, and auxiliary systems.
- Implement and tune control algorithms for electric propulsion, battery energy management, and regenerative braking.
- Support the electrification of traditional diesel systems by developing battery-electric and hybrid-electric architectures.
- Specify and select components for battery packs, DC/DC converters, inverters, chargers, and power distribution units (PDUs).
- Perform system-level modeling of electrical loads, energy storage, and thermal behavior.
- Analyze customer returns for root cause and develop corrective action responses in line with established quality processes.
- Provide support to internal and external customers in the use and application of both new and legacy products.
- Provide technical support to the Sales Department for quotations, customer service, and special design/price requests.
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes, including specifying all instrumentation and setup required to perform these tasks.
- Interface with customers as necessary to clarify design objectives on projects and communicate updates to the Sales Department.
- Adhere to established release-to-production protocols.
- Maintain awareness of industry advancements through ongoing education.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and build test cells in support of technology development.
Requirements for Control Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2–3 years of experience designing, testing, and supporting electrical/electronic products preferred.
- Knowledge of induction motor design and control.
- Ability to design and transition control systems from concept to physical hardware.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment, procedures, and international standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create manufacturing/engineering documentation, test methods, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.
- Experience operating laboratory equipment.
- Ability to accurately direct and clearly summarize test results.
- Strong technical writing skills for producing test plans, reports, and presentations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
