Hourly Pay Rate: $28–$32/hour
Description for Detailer:
We are seeking a Contract Detailer to join our engineering team in Peoria, IL. This role is ideal for a technically driven individual with a solid understanding of 2D and 3D modeling. The Detailer will be responsible for producing accurate and complete engineering drawings, proposal layouts, BOMs, and manufacturing documents based on design work performed by the engineering team. The role will also support new product development efforts, 3D scanning, and cross-functional collaboration with departments such as production, sales, and quality.
Responsibilities for Detailer:
- Create detailed drawings including:
- Installation, manufacturing, assembly, and part drawings
- Utilize CAD software:
- Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Develop proposal and standard product designs for sales/customer approval
- Complete BOMs and Load Profile Assessments using CAD and Excel
- Collaborate cross-functionally:
- Work with Production to ensure designs are feasible
- Support Sales and Field Teams with updated documentation and design info
- Operate FARO Scanner and interpret OEM measurement data
- Support Engineering documentation and internal project records
- 3D print models for customer presentations or trade shows
- Review and update existing designs based on production or customer feedback
- Train cross-functional team members and participate in internal documentation and training tools
- Participate in special engineering and research projects, including patent documentation
Requirements for Detailer:
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or relevant Engineering field
- Strong proficiency in:
- 2D and 3D modeling systems
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with:
- Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Bill of Materials (BOM) creation
- FARO Scanning equipment (preferred)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Willingness to collaborate and work cross-functionally
- Availability for occasional travel, training, or trade shows (as required)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
