Description for Electromechanical Engineer:
The Electro-Mechanical Engineer blends mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering. To plan, design, and implement production systems that assure safety, performance, reliability, maintainability, and quality assurance. To implement processes that increase productivity, quality, and generate overall continuous improvement of manufacturing and production support system. This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities forElectromechanical Engineer:
- Design and modify production equipment, tools, and layouts to improve efficiency and support evolving manufacturing needs.
- Create and maintain detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation to ensure consistent and optimized production processes.
- Lead the design, installation and troubleshooting of new and existing manufacturing equipment to enhance quality, throughput, and reliability.
- Provide hands-on support to the production floor, addressing equipment or process issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain output.
- Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing and lead times, collaborate with contractors and vendors for equipment design, sourcing, and implementation.
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies and recommend improvements to reduce waste and enhance operational performance.
- Investigate production challenges, identify root causes, implement solutions to improve product quality and process reliability.
- Ensure equipment and processes comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and insurance regulations while promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to coordinate equipment needs, schedule downtime, and gather input for continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements forElectromechanical Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, preferred.
- 2-4 years of related job experience.
- Knowledge in automation systems, including integration and troubleshooting of robotic and automated equipment.
- Familiarity with Ignition SCADA and Kepware for industrial data integration and HMI/PLC programming/ development.
- Proficiency in design software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
