Electronics Technician (Contract)

Location: Colorado Springs, COJob Requisition: 7707Hourly Pay Range: $28 – $32. Individual rates are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

Description for Electronics Technician:

The Electronics Technician will provide hands-on technical support within an engineering laboratory environment by assisting with camera system assembly, printed circuit board (PCB) testing, board programming, troubleshooting, and general engineering support activities. The technician supports product assembly, testing, and validation efforts.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on electronics technician with experience assembling electronic products, performing PCB testing, reading electrical schematics and assembly drawings, and utilizing common electronic test equipment. This individual will work closely with engineers while supporting ongoing product development and testing initiatives.

This is a fully onsite position operating on a highly desirable 9/80 work schedule.

Responsibilities for Electronics Technician:

  • Assemble camera systems and electronic products using assembly drawings and work instructions
  • Perform PCB testing including voltage checks and basic functional verification
  • Program printed circuit boards as directed by engineering personnel
  • Utilize electronic test equipment including multimeters and power supplies to support testing activities
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of electronic assemblies and PCB-related issues
  • Support engineering development, validation, and laboratory testing activities
  • Assist with mechanical assembly activities utilizing hand tools, fasteners, and fixtures
  • Document testing results and communicate findings to engineering personnel
  • Support engineering teams with general laboratory activities and product development efforts
  • Maintain an organized and safe laboratory work environment
  • Provide reliable technical support to improve engineering efficiency and product throughput
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements for Electronics Technician:

Must Haves

  • Hands-on electronics assembly experience
  • PCB testing experience
  • Experience using multimeters and power supplies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings
  • Basic soldering experience
  • Mechanical assembly experience utilizing hand tools and fasteners
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR compliance requirements

Nice to Have

  • Camera system assembly experience
  • Optics-related assembly experience
  • PCB programming experience
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field
  • Experience supporting engineering labs or R&D environments
  • Experience working in low-volume manufacturing or prototype environments
  • Experience supporting product validation and testing activities
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and change processes
