Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 – 33.00 Individual rates are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
Description for Engineering Technician:
Seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support sustaining engineering activities for our Valparaiso, IN facility. This position plays a key role in executing smaller engineering tasks, managing engineering change orders, maintaining CAD data, and assisting in test and validation efforts.
Responsibilities for Engineering Technician:
- Support ongoing sustaining engineering projects by updating drawings, models, and documentation in SolidWorks.
- Execute and document engineering change orders (ECOs/ECNs) and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Perform testing and validation on components and assemblies as directed by engineering.
- Interpret and update engineering prints and schematics in accordance with GD&T practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement product improvements and resolve production issues.
- Ensure all CAD data, documentation, and change records meet company and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives supporting product reliability and manufacturability.
- Communicate progress, findings, and issues clearly to the engineering team.
Requirements for Engineering Technician:
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering support or CAD technician role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (required).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience with BOM management, and engineering change notifications (ECNs).
- Experience with GD&T is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or related technical discipline preferred, but not required.
- Hands-on experience in testing and validation is a plus.
