Description for Industrial Engineer:

The Industrial Engineer plays a key role in driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the organization. This position focuses on analyzing workflows, identifying sources of waste, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves leading Lean and 5S initiatives, coordinating Kaizen events, developing process documentation, and optimizing manufacturing layouts and material flow. It also includes supporting design improvements for production tools and fixtures, performing root cause analyses, and guiding the production staff. 

Responsibilities for Industrial Engineer: 

  • Lead Lean and 5S initiatives to improve workflow and organization.
  • Coordinate and perform Kaizen events to drive process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing routings and workflows.
  • Analyze and implement improvements across material flow, information flow, layouts, processes, safety, and value streams.
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
  • Develop solutions for reported safety incidents.
  • Participate in the design and improvement of production tools and fixtures.
  • Perform root cause analysis on process or production issues.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Industrial Engineering Technicians.
  • Communicate progress and improvements to supervisors and cross-functional teams.

Requirements for Industrial Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering Technology (practical experience may substitute)
  • 1–3 years in industrial/manufacturing engineering or continuous improvement roles
  • Experience leading Kaizen events, Lean initiatives, or 5S programs
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; proficient with spreadsheets, word processors, databases, and IE modeling software
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work cross-functionally and guide junior engineers or technicians
  • Experience identifying safety risks and implementing cost-saving improvements
  • Green Belt level or higher in Lean/Six Sigma preferred
