Pay range: $70,000 - $85,000 plus 10% bonus plus 10% profit sharing. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

 

Summary

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting, installation, inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal operation by identifying and fixing issues, performing routine servicing, and replacing worn parts, often utilizing specialized tools and following safety protocols to maintain production uptime and quality standards. To assist and help junior maintenance mechanics with troubleshooting and performing repairs. To schedule and manage contractors. To assist with capital projects and continuous improvement projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repair:
    • Diagnosing faults, disassembling machinery, replacing faulty components, and reassembling equipment to restore functionality. Assist mechanics with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Contractor management:
    • Schedule, and work with contractors who perform inspections of equipment, repairs, rebuilds, and new equipment installations.
  • Safety compliance:
    • Adhering to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols, when working on machinery. 
  • Capital and continuous improvement projects:
    • Perform various roles in capital improvement projects, scoping projects and creating new projects, assisting with maintenance support of projects, performing installation of equipment

 

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in engineering preferred, Trade School and equivalent work experience acceptable with experience
  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of fluid transfer, packaging, labeling, filling, and palletizing equipment preferred
  • Strong, and knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic Electrical troubleshooting required (multimeter use)
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. 
  • Meticulous approach to work to ensure proper maintenance and identify potential issues. 

 

Work Environment:

Fast paced manufacturing environment, most of the work takes place on the manufacturing floor with some work taking place in a maintenance shop. Occasional work outdoors may take place.
