Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 plus discretionary bonus. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
SUMMARY FOR MAINTENANCE MANAGER:
Maintenance Managers oversee and lead maintenance procedures in a company. They manage activities such as tracking expenses and report progress updates to owners or higher-ups. They also handle specific tasks assigned to them along the way.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MAINTENANCE MANAGER:
- Direct and oversee all plant maintenance functions at the Lake Geneva plant.
- Through supervisory personnel, direct day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure that production equipment, facility equipment, and mobile equipment fleet is in operational condition, mechanics are properly trained, and safety, sanitation and quality specifications are being maintained.
- Ensure mechanics are working safely at all times by enforcing safety procedures and programs.
- Oversee maintenance resource utilization. Prioritize assignment of plant work orders to maintenance personnel/contractors with special emphasis on employee safety and food safety projects.
- Coordinate maintenance work with production operations. This includes scheduling to minimize disruption to production activities and ongoing communication with department personnel as to detailed suggestions regarding plans and follow-up as work progresses.
- Evaluate and approve purchases of parts, tools, equipment, chemicals and other repair items. Oversee maintenance office personnel on maintenance support functions.
- Manage spare parts inventory program. Ensure critical equipment component inventory is maintained and available when needed.
- Oversee the preventive maintenance program to protect the operation of all plant equipment. This activity involves the planning, supervision, and checking of maintenance and improvements within the facility.
- Utilize outside resources including contractors, engineering firms, consultants, equipment manufacturers etc. to support and improve maintenance programs and projects.
- Solicit, review, and negotiate preventative maintenance contracts for production, utility, and facility equipment. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Contractor preventative maintenance programs.
- Establish and manage the annual and quarterly plant maintenance budget. Report budget variances and corrective actions to Plant Manager and Treasurer.
- Manage maintenance labor budget. Continually improve efficiency of maintenance operations. Direct maintenance office personnel in proper classification of maintenance expenditures.
- Maintain the operation of plant utilities including fire pumps, air compressors, boilers, wells and water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, back flow prevention, elevators etc. in compliance with government codes and standards and safe operating parameters.
- Serve as contact for outside communication with gas company, service contractors, fire insurance representatives, regulatory inspection agencies (boilers, pressure vessels, elevators) etc.
- Participate in plant inspections for fire insurance and other regulatory authorities. (KC Inspections, AIB, SQF Audits)
- Produce periodic reports regarding work order progress and completion, maintenance labor efficiency, budget control and other key performance indicators.
- Resolve maintenance employee personnel issues in conjunction with the Administration department.
- Coordinate efforts with project managers as needed.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions
- Ensure that internal governance/control procedures are followed in accordance with the internal governance policy. Continuously monitor internal control structure and immediately report any errors/discrepancies to the President. For errors/discrepancies, implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in scheduling of the training of food safety and SQF training to all maintenance personnel and office staff.
- Enforce, update, improve, and review food safety and SQF procedures pertaining to maintenance operations.
- Participate in food safety internal auditing and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Enforce, update, improve, and review ISO procedures pertaining to maintenance operations.
- Assist in scheduling of the training of ISO 14000 training to all maintenance personnel and office staff.
- Participate in ISO 14000 internal auditing program.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE MANAGER:
- High School degree or GED, Continuing education is highly desired
- 10+ years of experience in plant maintenance with supervisory responsibilities
- Experience in a fluid handling related manufacturing environment (specifically Food related) highly desired
- Good computer skills
- Frequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneel, and move up to 50 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder height
