Annual Salary Range: $90 – 120K. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

Description for Manufacturing Manager: 

The Manufacturing Manager will oversee and direct all manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production and distribution of products across multiple shifts. This role involves developing and executing production plans, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities include workload planning, employee training, cross-training for flexibility, and analyzing processes for continuous improvement. The manager will lead a team by fostering collaboration, addressing performance issues, and maintaining compliance with ISO Quality Standards. With a focus on productivity, problem-solving, and effective communication, the Manufacturing Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving organizational goals while promoting a safe and efficient workplace. 

Responsibilities for Manufacturing Manager:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of departments concerned with the production or distribution of products. 
  • Responsible for allocation of manufacturing resources over three production shifts.
  • Collaborate with Operations team to develop production plans.
  • Develop production schedules and allocate employees to meet production plans. Effectively communicate those plans to supervisors, leads, and others as needed. Clearly communicate any changes to these plans to the Operations and Production teams.
  • Responsible for workload planning of direct reports.
  • Maintain and audit time and production records including employee time sheet and job transactions.
  • Develop training plans for direct reports.
  • Ensure production flexibility through cross-training of employees across departments.
  • Compile and report performance data to measure productivity related metrics and other department goals.
  • Responsible for content in daily Gemba and MDI (Manage for Daily Improvement) communications.
  • Continuously identify improvements to information and material flow.
  • Analyze processes to identify ways to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Production Control and Dayton facility on transfer materials.
  • Understand and apply ISO 9001 Quality System Standards.
  • Complete required audits.
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Participate on the safety council.
  • Address poor performers and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for Manufacturing Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 
  • At least 7 years of experience in manufacturing within of one or more manufacturing processes: assembly, HVAC, stamping, welding, brazing, metal fabrication, or machining or electro-mechanical 
  • 3-5 years of experience leading a team 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes
  • Knowledge of production planning and scheduling
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality System Standards
  • Ability to develop and implement training plans
  • Experience in cross-training and ensuring production flexibility
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience in compiling and analyzing productivity metrics
  • Ability to enforce safety protocols and address performance issues effectively
  • Proficiency in managing audits and compliance activities
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to determine root causes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Decision-making skills based on available information
  • Collaboration and conflict resolution skills
