Responsibilities for Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Lead and participate in the full product design and development lifecycle, from concept to production.
- Design and develop MRI receiver coils with a focus on usability for external anatomy applications.
- Create and modify 2D designs and 3D models using CAD software.
- Collaborate on product designs that incorporate advanced plastics and lightweight materials.
- Utilize simulation tools for design verification and optimization (experience with simulations is a plus).
- Work independently and collaboratively within a small team to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for medical devices.`
Requirements for Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in full product design through development.
- Prior experience in the medical device or other highly regulated industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of usability principles (e.g. IEC 62366) for products used on external anatomy.
- Hands-on experience with plastics in product design.
- Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with MRI receiver coil design is a significant advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a small team setting.
