Description for Job Title:
We are seeking a Contract Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing product and process improvements for its waterway buoy product line at our Cedarburg, WI facility. This is a hands-on, collaborative engineering role supporting both the manufacturing floor and business teams (Sales, Marketing, QA, and Customer Service).
We're looking for an engineer with strong technical acumen, CAD proficiency, and a passion for product innovation and continuous improvement. You'll work cross-functionally to develop new products, improve production processes, evaluate materials, and support quality initiatives across both U.S. and overseas manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities for Job Title:
- · Lead and contribute to product development projects aligned with customer requirements and business priorities
- · Participate in business meetings to provide technical insights and evaluate project feasibility
- · Support manufacturing operations with process validations, root cause investigations, LEAN initiatives, and corrective actions
- · Review and develop engineering documentation including BOMs, process specs, SOPs, and test criteria
- · Perform material qualifications and identify process improvements for both domestic and international production sites (Akron, OH & Malaysia)
- · Train manufacturing employees on updated equipment, materials, and procedures
- Collaborate with QA, Customer Service, and Marketing to provide technical support and ensure product performance and satisfaction
- · Perform lab testing using analytical tools and support the integration of new technologies and materials
Requirements for Job Title:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in product engineering or process optimization
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Familiar with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and capable of maintaining structured documentation
- Comfortable working across manufacturing, office, and remote environments
