Annual Salary Range: $60 – 90K. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
Description for Mechanical Engineer:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for specifying, installing, and commissioning production equipment and supporting systems that promote manufacturing objectives set by management. Manage capital and major maintenance projects. Support the maintenance team to solve more complex mechanical/pneumatic and hydraulic issues.
Responsibilities for Mechanical Engineer:
- Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering design and specifications of systems which include hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, mechanical fastening, welding, and fabrication.
- Create machine and component design, equipment layout, and structural fabrication drawings to be used for fabrication and assembly by internal personnel or outside vendors.
- Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including mechanical requirements, safety standards, and machine reliability metrics.
- Provide technical support and training to Maintenance and Production as needed.
- Direct employees, maintenance personnel, and contractors
Requirements for Mechanical Engineer:
- 1-3 Years related job experience preferred, or an equivalent of combined education and experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
- Familiarity with OSHA & EPA
- Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems and machine design and their application in automated industrial equipment and systems
- Must be a Team Player and able to communicate effectively across all layers of the organization (corporate, metal purchasing, environmental, sustainability, plant management, laboratory, engineering, shop floor, yard, docks)
- Strong interpersonal, cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural communication and leadership skills are required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and practical “can-do” attitude are expected.
- Must want to work in “hands-on” situations and apply “book knowledge” and “logic” towards real-world solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in office, remote, and heavy manufacturing settings.
