Description for Production Engineer:
The Production Engineer will be driving manufacturing excellence by improving processes, equipment, and systems within a production environment. The person in this position will analyze and optimize factory layout, workflows, and space utilization to boost efficiency and throughput. They will lead initiatives to resolve production challenges, implement continuous improvement strategies, and introduce new equipment or upgrade existing machinery to meet operational goals. This includes owning capital investment projects from justification to execution and ensuring production processes meet technical, safety, and quality standards. In addition, the Production Engineer will collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and support teams to ensure production readiness and ongoing process improvements.
Responsibilities for Production Engineer:
- Continuously assess and improve production workflows, equipment layout, and space utilization to drive greater manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Design, develop, and implement new production equipment and tooling; support upgrades to existing systems
- Identify, justify, and execute capital improvement (CAPEX) projects aligned with strategic business goals
- Partner with engineering, technical support, and supply chain to ensure smooth and timely production readiness
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet technical standards, customer specifications, and quality and safety requirements
- Monitor, analyze, and fine-tune key production process parameters to maintain optimal performance
- Lead or contribute to Kaizen and other continuous improvement events that promote operational excellence
- Champion lean manufacturing practices and embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to throughput, efficiency, and equipment utilization
- Carry out other duties and projects assigned, contributing to overall plant and team success
Requirements for Production Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- (Production Management or a related field will be considered)
- Minimum of 5 years of related manufacturing experience
- Experience implementing significant CAPEX investments that meet or exceed expected outcomes
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge with proven execution (Flow, Pull, Standardized work, KPI deployment, Or Visual workplace management, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and formal training in root-cause problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Experience with KPI metric management and deployment
- Working knowledge of CAD software (preferably AutoCAD)
- Understanding of circuit board manufacturing, ESD standards, and IPC standards
- Ability to lead and participate in Kaizen/continuous improvement events
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles (certification is a plus)

- Electronics Manufacturing Knowledge (preferably SMT)
