Annual Salary Range: $120 – 130K + may be eligible for bonus based on company performance within fiscal year cycle. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.Description for Quality Manager:

Our client is hiring a Quality Manager. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing, facilitating and deploying the Quality Management Systems and processes at the site. Coaching, training and influencing skills to deploy the WMS Operating System throughout the plant. Provide engineering and technical support. This role is located in Ontario, CA and will be fully on-site 

Responsibilities for Quality Manager:

  • Champion “Safety Excellence” by complying with all safety rules/processes, supporting the Safety Elements and driving the organization to utilize CI thinking to identify safety hazards and solve/sustain solutions to these hazards.
  • Coordinate the resolution of internal and external quality issues pertaining to defective vendor material.
  • Monitor incoming material and production to ensure quality is consistent and meets customer specifications.
  • Resolve customer complaints by implementing corrective and preventive actions through the application of problem solving methods such as the 8D, 5Y and DOE methodologies.
  • Maintain all divisional quality system documentation in a controlled environment designed to insure all divisional quality certification requirements are maintained.
  • Coordinate all internal auditing functions of the divisional quality system.
  • Develop inspection methods that will insure incoming material conforms to customer and divisional specifications.
  • Engineer appropriate test procedures on new products to aid in the expansion of the sales market.
  • Schedule and review calibration and GR&R studies of all equipment used to measure critical characteristics of processed product.
  • Select qualified vendors to support calibration and testing requirements of divisional equipment.
  • Implement and maintain an approved calibration venders list and calibration acceptance tolerance requirements.
  • Utilize appropriate computer software to capture and analyze accurate quality data to assist in the evaluation of information and data.
  • Coordinate quality issues between customers, WMS, Rolled Products and Aluminum Mills to ensure consistent quality standards throughout all aspects of the WMS’s business functions.
  • Develop Quality staff through various training initiatives to expand knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate divisional management review meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes to all corporate and movement members.
  • Coordinate divisional strategic quality plans, record and distribute the plan to all corporate and management members.
  • Develop lean manufacturing productivity measuring methods and develop appropriate metrics. 
  • Provide engineering assistance to the sales, purchasing and marketing departments.

Requirements for Quality Manager: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in quality management systems, including audits, 8D, and analytical tools.
  • Minimum 3+ years of management experience leading a quality team in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and industry quality system requirements.
  • Proven leadership in quality tools such as PPAP, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and GR&R.
  • Experience overseeing lab testing and compliance functions.
  • Background in metallurgy and/or polymer chemistry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, and quality software platforms.
  • Experience leading organizations through ISO certification or achieving quality awards.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
