Description for Senior Electrical Engineer:
Seeking a hands on Lead/Sr Electrical Engineer to build high performance edge computing solutions. This role is responsible for the design, development, modification and evaluation of complex hardware devices, PCB design and/or systems while coordinating project activities, meeting schedule, cost, and performance goals. This role will be responsible for design and documentation of the program and will enjoy a fast paced, highly intelligent work environment. This engineer will be involved from design through manufacturing and will work closely with test engineers and will contribute to BOM [bill of materials]. Please have test experience as well with a high level of design and documentation experience, ideally utilizing Atium for circuit design.
Responsibilities for Senior Electrical Engineer:
- Electrical design responsibilities for circuit & PCB design, power supply selection/design, microcontrollers/monitoring, environmental controls (cooling/heating), and integration of customer hardware and software
- Design for latest MIL-STD’s, Safety & EMI/EMC directives
- Hardware and embedded software design using PIC (or similar) microcontrollers
- Supports manufacturing and sales departments in preparing quotes, test specifications, production documents and other project related reports
- Provides customer assistance and interface with clients
- Projects are broad in nature, usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity
- Document actions as necessary, compile project status reports and present as needed
- Interacts effectively with coworkers, management and vendors in order to identify problems, research and present potential solutions and implement actions
Requirements for Senior Electrical Engineer:
- Must be hands on
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Controls Engineering
- At least 10 years design experience required per the above responsibilities
- Familiarity with compute hardware and embedded software design required
- Must be hands-on, detail oriented, organized
- Circuit design, schematic, PCB design experience required
- Interconnect design (PCIe, Ethernet, SAS, SATA, USB, I2C, UART or similar)
- Digital and high speed PCB design techniques & layout a plus
- Analog, Power and RF PCB design techniques & layout a plus
- Familiarity with rugged computing platforms a plus
- Familiarity with microprocessors (Intel & AMD) a plus
- Familiarity with FPGA’s, PLD’s, DSP’s a plus
- Hot plug/sequencing techniques of digital PCB’s a plus
- Familiarity of manufacturing methods preferred
- Oral and written communication skills required for interaction with engineering, customer and manufacturing personnel
- Great analysis and debugging skills
- Wide degree of creativity, independence, multi-tasking latitude is required
- Expert working Knowledge of Basic Computer Usage and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point and Excel)
- Altium Designer experience a plus
- AutoCAD/ProgeCAD experience a plus
- Programming in C a plus.
- Able to work in laboratory and manufacturing environment
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
