Description for Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems within a production environment. This role serves as a technical leader for manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting capital projects, and developing long-term manufacturing strategies that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The position works closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production teams to support process excellence, new product introductions, automation initiatives, and manufacturing standardization across the organization.

Responsibilities for Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Drive plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Serve as a technical expert for complex manufacturing challenges, process optimization efforts, and production support activities.
  • Lead capital projects including equipment selection, facility layout, installation, startup, validation, and commissioning.
  • Develop and execute long-term manufacturing strategies, including automation initiatives and capacity planning.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technical personnel.
  • Partner with product development teams to incorporate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Lead cross-functional teams supporting new product introductions, process improvements, and manufacturing standardization efforts.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key manufacturing performance metrics and drive accountability for results.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and external partners on manufacturing technologies, equipment, and process improvements.
  • Support production operations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, throughput, quality, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements for Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and industrial automation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing equipment and automated machinery.
  • Experience leading manufacturing process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working experience with CAD software, preferably Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects and manufacturing operations.

Preferred

  • Experience leading automation and advanced manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience with capacity planning and facility layout optimization.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, technicians, or technical staff.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with highly automated manufacturing systems.
